John A. Venezia
John A. Venezia, a native of New Orleans, is the president of Venezia & Associates (APLC). He maintains a litigation practice involving a variety of areas including commercial litigation, construction disputes, first party insurance claims, business interruption, wrongful death, automobile wrecks, toxic torts, and criminal defense. He has over 20 years of diverse experience in prosecuting claims of businesses suffering losses and people severely injured, as well as defending the rights of the accused. Mr. Venezia has tried over 100 civil and criminal trials in state and federal courts. His cases have ranged from multimillion dollar business disputes to defending murder charges.
The Louisiana State Bar Association licensed Mr. Venezia to practice before all Louisiana state courts in 1995. Additionally, the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of Louisiana, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court admitted him to practice. On several occasions, courts in Mississippi and Texas allowed Mr. Venezia to appear pro hac vice.
Loyola University School of Law granted Mr. Venezia a Juris Doctorate in 1995. He has a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Louisiana State University, with an emphasis on International Trade and Finance.
Julie O’Shesky is an associate with the firm.
Ms. O’Shesky grew up in Michigan. Before earning her bachelor degrees, Julie worked for Ford Motor Company for five years. Julie worked on the line at a number of plants assembling vehicles. After leaving Ford, Ms. O’Shesky briefly moved to Virginia where she was a State Trooper. She moved back to Michigan and attended Madonna University where Julie earned a Bachelor of Science in Paralegal Studies and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology.
Once Ms. O’Shesky graduated from Madonna University in May, 2011, she moved to New Orleans to begin law school and attended Loyola University New Orleans College of Law. While in law school, Julie joined a number of clubs, including the Criminal Law Society, Association for Women Law Students, and Federalist Society. She participated in the Trial Advocacy program. Julie was on Loyola Law Review. During her third year, Julie participated in the Prosecution Clinic and worked in the Orleans Parish District Attorney’s Office, Juvenile Division. Ms. O’Shesky graduated in the top ten percent of her class and earned her Juris Doctor, Civil Law Division, in May, 2014.
Julie O’Shesky was admitted to practice law in the State of Louisiana in May, 2015 and may practice in all of the state courts within the Louisiana. She was admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana in August, 2015. Julie is involved in a general practice of law, including areas such as: automobile accidents, first party insurance claims, criminal defense, contract disputes, successions, and employment or labor disputes.
